Ahrefs domain rank
A domain's Ahrefs domain rank is a quality metric provided by Ahrefs that indicates the domain's rank in our partner's database (lower scores are better). This score can be a factor in determining whether a domain will appear on the following lists:
- Consider disavowing
- Consider for backlinks: friends of friends
- Consider for backlinks: friends of competitors
Where an Ahrefs domain rank is not available for a domain, this score will be 0.
Visualising Ahrefs domain rank
In the report interactive, Explore further > Quality metrics > Ahrefs domain rank applies the Ahrefs domain rank palette to all non-dimmed domains. This re-colouring is relative, not absolute, so 'High' means high in the context of this ecosystem (not the wider web), and excludes principal and competitor domains.
TIP You can use the handles in the colour spectrum panel (see quickstart: the report interactive) to focus the palette on a particular part of the spectrum.
