Consider for backlinks: friends of competitors

Domains listed in the consider for backlinks: friends of competitors list should be considered as candidates to approach for backlinks. This means they are competitor referrer or competitor shared referrer domains, as well as meeting other eligibility criteria.

Eligibility criteria

To appear in the consider for backlinks: friends of competitors list, a domain must meet these criteria:

For example, in the following illustration, domains A, B, C, and D are all competitor referrer or competitor shared referrer domains for a competitor domain (which appears at the centre):

In the main visualisation of a report interactive, the 'Spam score' view re-colours the domains to indicate their spam score. Dark grey indicates a zero score (the best), and then bands from yellow to red indicate progressively higher scores.

Domain B has a spam score in the 31-59 range, which makes it unlikely to appear in the consider for backlinks: friends of competitors list. Although domain C has a spam score in the 1-15 range, that does not disqualify it. So, only domains A and C are likely to appear in the consider for backlinks: friends of competitors list.

In the report interactive, Quick analysis > CFB: Friends of competitors applies the domain type palette to domains in the consider for backlinks: friends of competitors list, and dims all other domains.

You can also use Explore further > Special > CFB: Friends of competitors to put white rings around domains in the consider for backlinks: friends of competitors list (this does not override the currently selected palette).
