Whitelist
Domains in the whitelist will never appear in the consider disavowing list, despite any other qualifying criteria. These domains are usually added for two reasons:
- They are operated by the principal (e.g., the domain of a subsidiary or owned brand)
- Despite having an elevated Spam score, they are quality domains
Domains in the whitelist that are not principal referrer or shared referrer domains will appear in the following lists:
Populating the whitelist
The whitelist is populated in three ways:
- Prior to the initial analysis, domains owned or associated with the principal will have been identified and added to the whitelist
- When preparing a report, the operator may add further domains to the whitelist after checking them manually and determining that they are high quality
- Domains may be added after consultation with the SEO Pro, and reflected in an updated report
Visualising the whitelist
In the report interactive, Explore further > Special > Whitelist will put white rings around domains in the whitelist (this does not override the currently selected palette).
Viewing the whitelist domains
The all_domains_*
worksheet in the data tables (MS Excel file)
for a report contains a Whitelist
column. Filter this column for 'yes' to see only domains in the
Whitelist.
